A tented celebration, set in a working hayfield.
Cherry Lane Family Farm's back hayfield opens as a private, tented event space — reached by its own separate entrance, away from the grove and the main farm drive, so your day feels like it belongs only to you.
The back hayfield
Set apart from the Umbrella Pine grove and the working nursery, our back hayfield is a large, level, open meadow — well suited to a reception tent, dance floor, and seating for your ceremony and celebration. According to our property survey, the field sits on its own separate parcel, with its own frontage and its own entrance, distinct from the main farm entrance at 175 Cherry Lane.
That separate entrance means your guests, caterers, and vendors arrive directly at the event site, without crossing through the working parts of the farm — and it opens the door to one particularly memorable touch:
By horse-drawn carriage
Because the hayfield has its own entrance, a horse-drawn carriage can meet the bride and groom there and carry them the short distance to the ceremony site — arriving across an open farm field rather than a parking lot. It's a small detail, but it's the kind that guests remember.
What the day could look like
We're proud supporters of the right to farm
Cherry Lane Family Farm is qualified farmland, and we're proud supporters of New Jersey's Right to Farm Act and the working farms it protects across the state. Hosting your celebration here means celebrating on a farm that's still very much in operation — equipment, seasons, and all.
